In spring of 2017, 35% of our students were on pace for college readiness in mathematics. After working with Dana, that number has jumped to 45%. Dana has helped us become more purposeful in our work, helped us increase the dynamic nature of our math classrooms, and most importantly, Dana has helped us position more students for success in mathematics. Her work has transformed the student experience here at Williamsfield Schools (http://www.billtown.org/).

Dana Cartier provides top level professional development for all levels of mathematics. I have never been so impressed with the depth of knowledge, the clarity of vision, the commitment to purpose, and the ability to develop those things in the people she works with as I am with Dana. She has helped me develop and grow professionally more than anyone in the last 10 years. Because of Dana, I have a deep understanding of Common Core math standards and mathematical practices; beyond that, I can recognize when they’re incorporated well in materials, making it easier to recognize quality resources and understand how to adapt what we already have. Dana is passionate about her work and her high expectations inspire others to excel. She is a valuable resource!

I have had the pleasure of working with Dana Cartier in several different arenas. She has proven to be a leader in educational support. I first met Dana through my work with PARCC. She had a great understanding of not only summative assessments but also formative assessments and how they should align and support schools and students.

Likewise, I worked with Dana through EQuIP work with Achieve. She demonstrated an incredible command of alignment to math standards as well as a commitment to student engagement through rich and worthwhile curriculum.

I also had the pleasure working with Dana through the EdReports review process. I could not have asked for a better facilitator and content specialist. She provided guidance to our group and led us to provide the best possible information for those needing a quality review of materials. She was phenomenal.

I always look forward to working with Dana. In addition to being very knowledgeable in all aspects of mathematics education, she is fun to work with! Dana can assist teachers in a variety of processes – from revising a single lesson so that it better aligns to the content standards and math practices to helping an entire district develop a plan for selecting a whole curriculum. Dana’s work not only includes a keen understanding of the common core standards and math practices, but also resources and expertise in putting them into practice. She can help teachers and teams assess what’s working in classrooms and how to make revisions to lessons and/or the curriculum to better meet the needs of students and teachers.
